Max Ignatius Atlas Year Of Change Day 133
I woke up this morning in a very contemplative mood, so I decided I’d take advantage of it before the hustle and bustle of the day. I know I try to keep things positive, but I couldn’t help but reflect on how miserable I used to be compared to how I’m doing now. Sure, I wasn’t mortally ill or severely depressed, but I could have definitely ended up in such a situation had I not made my lifestyle changes when I did. I guess you can’t realize the true depth of the hole you were in until you can look at it from the outside.
Since it was a pretty nice day outside, I took my kids on a walk this afternoon to get them out of the house for a bit. I’m not trying to force anything on them (they should get to be kids, after all), but I have been encouraging them to give technology a break every now and then. I’m hoping that eventually, they’ll ask to come along with me when I go on my usual walks. That’ll also mean they can carry groceries when I run errands!

Every day I try to predict visually how much I’ve slimmed down. Let’s just say I’m a little overenthusiastic when it comes to this!
I had a bit of a kitchen mishap while I was making dinner (a little too embarrassed to go into detail…just use your imagination), so I ended up ordering out for the first time in a while. I tried my best to choose healthy options for myself, but I was a little nervous that I couldn’t study all the nutritional information in depth. After a while, I just decided not to worry about it, and just ordered something similar to what I’ve prepared myself before. Even when you’re monitoring your diet, choosing what to eat should never be that stressful.

Other than a minor cooking disaster, I’d say that today went pretty well. I’m so glad I started changing my ways of thinking, as doing so has helped me salvage countless challenging days. I’ll definitely keep the mental aspect of my journey a top priority moving forward.
