4 Days Without Coke, How Does This Feel?
We’re almost there. Just keep pushing through. It shall be over before you even know it. Besides, you already feel better, don’t you? Probably no more headaches, no nausea and no tiredness. Physically you’re definitely getting better. So, let’s discuss some other stuff then, shall we?
All right, you’re all better, but something still doesn’t seem right, does it? Again, you’re starting to feel the urge to drink Cola. Try drinking mineral water instead. Yes, I know it’s not the same, but it will give your body some satisfaction, even if you won’t feel it on your tongue. Watch a movie, read a book, exercise, buy a kitty – anything to keep you distracted. To keep your mind elsewhere.

Unfortunately, a strange feeling is slowly starting to creep in, isn’t it? It might not be depression, but you probably feel lethargic at least. Now, that’s tricky because, even if it’s not depression, it can become one if you nurture it, if you feed it. Don’t feed it. Ignore it. Get out of the bed. Do something! Or better yet, start going to a therapist. Or invite you best friend over, or sister, or whoever and talk to someone about your feelings. Remember, druggie, you’re not alone in this. Many people suffer from all kinds of addictions – drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, etc. Compared to them, you have a much higher chance of recovering. Remind yourself that constantly. I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy, but it definitely will be worth it.
Do whatever you must to keep yourself busy. Do not let depression crawl in, because then you’ll have much more to worry about. Trust me that is a problem you really don’t need right now.
Okay, you got through the fourth day. I didn’t even doubt it. And now it’s probably time to go to sleep and get ready for the next step. Ready, set, go!
