The story of Katy, a 17-year-old who recently relocated to West Virginia, is told in Obsidian. She makes an effort to get along with her neighbors Dee and Daemon Black, but while she and Dee end up being great friends, Daemon is incredibly conceited and has a lot of animosity for Katy. Katy had no idea that Daemon and Dee are actually aliens attempting to flee a person attempting to steal their abilities.
