About Patricia Cornwell

As a computer analyst at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond, Virginia, Patricia Cornwell sold her first novel, Postmortem, in 1990. The first bona fide forensic thriller was Postmortem. There has been an explosion of entertainment featuring forensic themes across film, television, and literature as a result.

A year after Postmortem was published, it won the Edgar, Creasey, Anthony, and Macavity awards as well as the French Prix du Roman d’Aventure prize, making it the first book ever to achieve all of these awards simultaneously. A total of 100 million copies of Cornwell’s books have been sold in 36 languages in over 120 countries. Twenty-nine of her books have been New York Times bestsellers.
