List Of Non Woke Podcasts

Non Woke Podcasts – There are podcasts for everything. We have food podcasts, sports podcasts and even political podcasts, so where are all the woke ones?  “How do you define ‘woke’?” Being woke means having a heightened social consciousness and understanding of the world around you. It’s not limited to black people or women — any white man who wants to learn more about diversity issues can be considered woke as well. It might be easy to assume that every podcast is woke, but that’s not the case. The following list of podcasts will provide some value while holding zero sociopolitical agenda.

Get Off My Lawn

Get Off My Lawn is a podcast hosted by Josh where he talks about the history of the world. This is not a show you’re going to want to listen to if you like woke podcasts. In fact, it’s probably one of the least woke shows on our list.

If you do decide to listen, be warned: Josh doesn’t care about diversity or inclusion. He isn’t even that interested in equality he just wants everyone to shut up and let him talk about history.

Our Fake History

If you’re looking for a podcast that highlights the weird and wonderful bits of history that were left out of textbooks, look no further. Our Fake History is hosted by professor David Pietrusza and comedian Jacopo della Quercia, who delve into topics like “The Great Moon Hoax,” in which people believed there was a race of moon-dwelling people called Selenites; or “John Dillinger’s Publicity Stunt,” which shows how even notorious criminals can be humble about their fame; or “The Secret Life & Bigamy Of Mark Twain.” The hosts are engaging to listen to, the stories are interesting and often funny, and each one is just about 30 minutes long the perfect length for an afternoon commute. I highly recommend it.

Stuff Mom Never Told You

Stuff Mom Never Told You is a podcast about history, myths and all things human. Hosted by Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin, it’s a spinoff of Stuff You Missed in History Class. Although they’re still exploring history through their own lens, they put a feminist twist on the subject matter that makes it unique.

Stuff Mom Never Told You is a great podcast for feminists who want to learn more about the world around them.

The Big Listen

The Big Listen is a podcast about podcasts. It’s hosted by Meg Coyle and Benjamin Strouse, and it was created by RadioPublic. The show features interviews with people who make podcasts, as well as discussions with other podcasters about the current state of the medium.

The Big Listen recently released its first season finale featuring an interview with Alex Blumberg, co-founder of Gimlet Media one of the biggest players in podcasting today. Blumberg discusses his journey from being a producer on NPR’s Planet Money to creating his own company, which now has more than 200 employees working on over 30 shows.
