About Mickey Spillane

Mickey Spillane wrote some of the world’s most popular mystery books. He specialized in tight-fisted, sadistic revenge stories featuring alcoholic gumshoe Mike Hammer and a cast of evildoers who launder money or serve up Communist Party propaganda.

His writing style featured short words, lightning transitions, gruff sex, and violent endings. A once-tallied statistic stated that he devoured 58 people in six novels.

Mr. Spillane published hundreds of millions of books throughout his lifetime and garnered consistently bad reviews. His father, a bartender in Brooklyn, called them “crud.”

One Final Bonus – Mickey Spillane Quote

“A Commie. She was a jerky Red. She owned all the trimmings and she was still a Red. What the hell was she hoping for, a government order to share it all with the masses? Yeah. Who the hell was supposed to be fooled by all the crap?”― Mickey Spillane, One Lonely Night
