In his highly successful career spanning more than 25 years as a fiction, non-fiction, television, and film writer, Lorenzo Carcaterra has earned a number one New York Times bestseller.
The New York Daily News hired him as a copy boy in 1976 when Carcaterra was born and raised in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. As a reporter, he worked his way up to entertainment reporter before leaving the paper in 1982 for the green pastures of TV-Cable Week and Time Inc. However, the magazine folded after nine months, leaving him unemployed. Following a four-month stint at People magazine, I wrote for a string of start-up publications—Picture Week, Entertainment Tonight Magazine, Special Reports Magazine—and freelanced for dozens of others, including The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Newsday Sunday Magazine, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, and Twilight Zone Magazine.
