About Larry McMurtry
On June 3, 1936, Larry McMurtry was born in Wichita Falls, Texas. He has written 29 novels, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning Lonesome Dove, three memoirs, two essay collections, and more than thirty screenplays.
Several of his other novels have also been adapted into movies and television series, including Horseman, Pass By.
In 2006, he co-won both the Best Screenplay Golden Globe and the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for “Brokeback Mountain,” among many other accolades.
