About Helen Tursten

Helene Tursten (born 1954 in Gothenburg) writes crime fiction. There is a main character in each of her stories named Detective Inspector Irene Huss. A nurse before becoming an author, Tursten trained as a dentist and then left the field due to illness. She worked as a translator of medical articles throughout her illness.
