About G. Neri

G. Neri is the Coretta Scott King award-winning author of Yummy: the Last Days of a Southside Shorty and the Lee Bennett Hopkins Promising Poet Award winner for Chess Rumble. It has been translated into multiple languages in over 25 countries. As well as Tru & Nelle, A Christmas Tale, Ghetto Cowboy, Knockout Games, Surf Mules, and two free-verse picture books, When Paul Met Artie and Hello, I’m Johnny Cash, these are among his works. A National Science Foundation grant sent him to Antarctica in 2017.

She was a filmmaker, an animator/illustrator, a digital media producer, and a founding member of The Truth anti-smoking campaign before becoming a writer. He lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida with his wife and daughter, where he writes full-time.
