Ebert began to write a book about a messianic figure named Edward Sharpe who was “sent down to Earth to kinda heal and save mankind, but he kept getting distracted by girls and falling in love.” Ebert adopted the Sharpe persona as his alter ego.
Due to drug addiction, Ebert was moved out of their house to spend time in a rehab center.

Yeah, I know I’m sleeping ’cause this dream’s too amazin’
She got gold doorknobs where her eyes used to be, yeah
One turn and I learned what it really means to see, yeah
Ah, must be a lie
Bye, bye to the too good to be true kind of love
Oh, I could die
Oh, now I can die
Nobody better pinch me
Bitch, I swear I’ll go crazy
She got jumper cable lips
She got sunset on her breath now
I inhaled just a little bit
Now I got no fear of death now

Girl, I’ve never loved one like you
Man, oh, man, you’re my best friend
I scream it to the nothingness
There ain’t nothing that I need
Well, hot and heavy pumpkin pie
Chocolate candy, Jesus Christ

Home is wherever I’m with you
Better Days
Length: 4:25
Release: 2013
Opening Lyrics:
I’ve seen better days, dripping down your face
We don’t have to talk, let’s dance
For all the times you felt alone, dreaming better
I see better, better days
Too dumb to say goodbye that’s some cliché shit, make me wanna cry
Just know that every time I look in your eye, I see better, I see better, better days
Try to remember, that you can’t forget
Down with history, up with your head
For sweet tomorrow, she never fell from grace
We might still know sorrow but we got better days
I seen better ways, some won’t believe
But I don’t need much more than faith
For all the times you felt alone
Dreaming better, dreaming better, better ways
No Love Like Yours
Length: 2:57
Release:2006
Opening Lyrics:
Ain’t sure about my name, don’t know my style
Don’t know the dictionary, don’t know what clothes to wear
I’m just in love with you, I don’t know love
Show me love, show me love
Show me love, show me love
Teach me love, hear me love
Don’t really eat, don’t read or write
I don’t trust your looks, honey, you’re too good-lookin’
I’m not sure it counts, you’re too kind
