Best Movies Like Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood

Here is our list of Movies like Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood that we are sure you will enjoy. This is the story of the first moon landing, which took place in the summer of 1969, from the perspectives of two different people. There are both the view from an astronaut and the view from mission control of the triumphant moment captured in this work, as well as the lesser-seen bottom-up view of what it was like from the perspective of a kid who lived near NASA but mostly watched it on television like hundreds of millions of others. Ultimately, the film is both an exact re-creation of this moment in history and the fantasy of a young child who imagines that he may one day be plucked from his average suburban life to be tasked with training for a covert mission to the moon.

Director: Andrew Stanton

Despite earthly trinkets and show tunes, WALL-E is alone on Earth apart from a sprightly pet cockroach. One day, EVE, a sleek (and dangerous) reconnaissance robot, is sent to Earth to find proof that life is once again sustainable. WALL-E falls in love with EVE. He rescues EVE from a dust storm and shows her a living plant he found among the rubble. EVE takes the plant and automatically enters a deactivated state except for a blinking green beacon as per her directive. WALL-E does not understand what has happened to his new friend, but he protects her from wind, rain, and lightning, even though she is unresponsive. When a massive ship comes to reclaim EVE, WALL-E hitches a ride on the outside of it to rescue her. As the ship returns to Earth, all of the humans who evacuated Earth 700 years ago board a large space cruise ship. On hovering chairs, people of Earth get a constant feed of TV and video chats while traveling in this space resort. Their meals are always consumed through a straw out of laziness and/or bone loss, and all of them are so heavy that they are unable to move. An auto-pilot computer, operating on instructions sent centuries ago, attempts to prevent the returning humans by stealing the plant. WALL-E, EVE, the captain, and a band of broken robots stage a coup.
